Indie studios
Source control for indie game studios
Cloud version control for indie game teams. It saves every change to your game, keeps the whole team in sync, and never loses a file. Indies don't have a DevOps team, and you don't need one: same capability AAA uses, nothing to set up, private by default, from $12/mo.
Purpose-built
Designed for small teams with real projects
Affordable Solo plan
Solo developers get 500 GB of storage, 1 TB of bandwidth, unlimited commits, and the full desktop app for $12/month. No seat minimums.
Flat per-user pricing
Bring on a collaborator for $29/month. No seat minimums, no admin overhead, no enterprise sales call.
Five-minute setup
Create a project, link the desktop app, start committing. No server provisioning, no admin configuration.
Your whole team can use it
Artists, writers, and audio folks all work from the same app. No Git CLI tutorials, no P4V training.
Private and never lost
Your project lives in private storage only your team can reach. Nothing public, nothing indexed. Every version is integrity-verified and recoverable. Accidentally deleted the boss level? Restore it in one click.
Source-available desktop app
Enterprise customers get the source code. Audit it yourself, build it yourself if you want to, never worry about vendor lock-in at the client layer.
The indie source control dilemma
Indies get stuck between three bad options. Git LFS is free but fragile. One artist forgets to run `git lfs install` and your project is full of pointer files instead of textures. Perforce is too expensive and operationally heavy to justify for a team of three. Cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive) has no real versioning and creates sync conflict nightmares on shared project folders. You end up duct-taping something together, losing hours to tooling that should Just Work, and occasionally losing work outright. All while your unannounced game sits in a shared folder anyone with a link can stumble into. USourceControl exists because this situation shouldn't be anyone's default: your game stays private (storage only your team can reach, nothing public), every version stays recoverable, and the whole thing is priced for an indie team, from $12/mo.
What's included in the Solo plan
Solo developers get the full product for $12/month: • 500 GB of storage • 500 GB of bandwidth per month • Unlimited commits • Full per-file version history • The full desktop app (no gated features) • The web dashboard When your solo project grows into a team, you move to the Team plan at $29/user/month, which adds team collaboration, audit logs, priority support, and 2 TB per-org storage.
Upgrading when your team grows
Moving from Solo to Team takes two clicks on the billing page. Nothing migrates, nothing moves. Your existing project stays put, storage caps go up, and you can invite collaborators. Downgrading works the same way and keeps your data accessible. Your commits don't go anywhere. Your project history is preserved as long as your subscription is active.
FAQ
Common questions
What's included in the Solo plan?
$12/month gets you 500 GB of storage, 500 GB of bandwidth per month, unlimited commits, full per-file version history, the full desktop app, and the web dashboard. No seat minimums, no feature gating.
What happens if I hit the Solo storage limit?
We notify you as you approach it. You can upgrade to Team for more storage, or clean up old versions if you need to stay under the cap. We don't lock you out of your own project. Existing files stay accessible.
How does pricing scale as our team grows?
Flat per-user pricing: $29/user/month on Team, $115/user/month on Studio. The Studio tier unlocks 5 TB of org storage and dedicated support. Annual billing gives you two months free.
Can I use USourceControl with contractors or freelancers?
Yes. Invite them to a specific project with member-level access, pay per active user, remove them when the engagement ends. Audit logs track everything they touch.
Do I need a technical co-founder to use this?
No. The desktop app is designed for non-engineers. Artists, designers, and writers can use it without any CLI knowledge. If your technical person sets up the first project, everyone else can join and contribute without learning Git.
What if I want to leave?
Your unreleased game stays yours. You can download the current state of any project at any time through the desktop app or API. We don't hold your project hostage if you decide to switch tools.
