Refund Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

The short version

  • Try USourceControl on a real project for 30 days. Not for you? Your first payment comes back in full, no questions asked.
  • One email is all it takes. The refund goes back to your original payment method.
  • A refund never holds your files hostage. You keep the full 30-day window to export everything.

1. The 30-day guarantee

Every new subscription, Indie or Studio, monthly or annual, comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If USourceControl is not right for your team, tell us within 30 days of your first payment and we refund that payment in full. No reason required, no forms, no retention calls.

We offer this because trying source control properly means moving a real project onto it, and you should be able to do that without betting money on the outcome.

2. How to request a refund

Email support@usourcecontrol.com from an email address on your organization, with your organization name and the word "refund" anywhere in the message. That is the whole process. We confirm within 2 business days and issue the refund to the payment method you used.

Depending on your bank or card issuer, the money typically appears within 5 to 10 business days of being issued.

3. What happens after a refund

Your subscription is canceled when the refund is issued. Nothing is deleted at that moment: in line with our Terms of Service, you keep a 30-day window to export your files and version history before anything is permanently removed. We will never use a refund as a reason to lock you out of your own work.

4. Renewals and other charges

The 30-day guarantee covers the first payment of a new subscription. Beyond that:

  • Annual renewals: if a renewal charge catches you by surprise, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we refund it in full.
  • Monthly renewals: cancel anytime from the billing portal. You keep access until the end of the paid period; we do not prorate partial months.
  • Seat changes and upgrades are prorated automatically at billing time, so there is nothing to refund.

Outside these windows, subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. If something unusual happened, write to us anyway. We read every message and we would rather be fair than technically right.

5. Fair play

The guarantee applies once per organization. We may decline refunds that look like abuse of the policy, for example repeatedly subscribing and refunding to obtain the Service for free, or usage that violates the Fair Use Policy or Terms of Service during the refund period.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under applicable law, including EU consumer protection law where it applies. Where the law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.

7. Payments and merchant of record

Checkout, invoicing, and taxes are handled by Polar, our merchant of record, so the charge on your statement may appear under Polar's name. Refunds are issued through Polar to the payment method you originally used.
