1. Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and organization information. When you use the service, we collect usage data including file metadata (names, sizes, hashes), commit messages, timestamps, and IP addresses.
We do not access, read, or analyze the contents of your project files. Files are transmitted over TLS.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the service
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Process billing and subscription management
- Send transactional emails (account verification, security alerts)
- Generate aggregated, anonymized usage analytics
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Data storage and security
Project files are stored on a global CDN storage network. Database records are hosted on managed database infrastructure with automatic backups. Audit logs are retained for 365 days.
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS 1.3 for all connections, SHA-256 hashing for file integrity and project keys, and role-based access control.
4. Third-party services
We use third-party services to operate USourceControl, including providers for:
- Authentication and session management
- Database hosting and backups
- File storage and content delivery
- Analytics and audit logging
- Subscription billing
These services process data only as necessary to provide their function. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Project files and version history are retained for as long as the project exists. When you delete a project, all associated files and versions are permanently removed within 30 days. Audit logs are retained for 365 days.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access and export your data at any time
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Object to processing for marketing purposes

8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
